Nissan begin proving tests on NV200 EV

Nissan Motor Co Ltd have begun global proving tests in Japan of an electric vehicle (EV) based on the compact commercial vehicle NV200.

For the first phase, the Japan Post Service will carry out postal collection and delivery tasks for two months in Yokohama to evaluate the vehicle's capabilities under a customer's normal usage conditions. Later other proving tests will be done in both Japan and Europe.

The NV200 was recently chosen as the next generation New York taxi. It is sold in around 40 countries worldwide and has received positive feedback from customers for its spacious interior, fuel economy, driving performance, and attractive design.

Nissan is aiming to become the leader in zero emissions.
